ONCE UPON A TIME…
Poetic designs, imagined and crafted in Brussels.
INGA LICHTENFELD IS
A creative house where every print takes you on a journey
Every print is hand-drawn by Inga Lichtenfeld herself — poetic patterns that carry the soul away to worlds yet unknown. The house was born from a desire to give shape to Sehnsucht — that untranslatable German longing for a distant, imagined place — fuelled by a passion for the beauty of nature and art, and the desire to make it wearable.
Originally from Hamburg and trained in fashion design, pattern-making and sewing in Paris, the designer now welcomes visitors to her workshop-boutique in the heart of Brussels’ Saint-Géry district.
The house was originally founded under the name Aesthete, driven by an initial love for children’s fashion. Its clothes were designed to allow complete freedom of movement, while bringing each child’s inner and imaginary world to life through hand-drawn prints. Today, the same spirit continues under the name Inga Lichtenfeld, with a new focus on womenswear.
Made here, designed to last
Every piece is handmade on-site by the designer herself, allowing each garment to be truly personalised according to the wishes of every customer. Each item is produced in an environmentally conscious and responsible way, through the shortest possible supply chain — from sketch to wardrobe, without unnecessary detours.
For her, for little ones, and for him
This new direction is now embodied in a complete womenswear collection. The same poetry can also be found in the children’s collection, which adds the perfect finishing touch to this creative world. A selection of pieces for men is available too.
True slow fashion, made to last.
