STALINGRAD - MIDI - LEMONNIER

Stalingrad - Midi - Lemonnier

The ‘Midi Lemmonier’ neighbourhood is the entrance to the South of the City of Brussels, and is composed of two shopping streets: ‘boulevard Lemonnier’ and ‘avenue Stalingrad’.

The booksellers, IT equipment suppliers, restaurants and tearooms all have a friendly, oriental feel to them. ‘Bibliopolis’ and ‘Pêle-Mêle’ are the main players in this neighbourhood.

Why not head over there on a Sunday? This neighbourhood linking the ‘Gare du Midi’ station with the ‘Grand-Place de Bruxelles’ comes alive with the bustling Marché du Midi.

‘Anneessens’ Market

Every Tuesday morning on boulevard Maurice Lemonnier in the centre of Brussels, Place Anneessens
is transformed into a little market. Lots of stalls selling food and textiles set up shop around the marble statue of François Anneessens which dominates the square, with no-nonsense products at a very fair price.

Little bicycle market

This little bicycle market, located in ‘place Anneessens’, is a favourite place for second-hand bicycle enthusiasts on Sunday mornings. You can even pick up second-hand mopeds there. The bikes are displayed in the simplest possible way. Have a good look at them, try them out and pick the one that’s best for you! Top tip: the cycle lane to get to ‘le Piétonnier’ is just around the corner.
