Over the past few days, you can feel it everywhere in Brussels: the city is buzzing with the energy of Brussels Pride. Rainbow colours are appearing across the city and there’s a warm, festive atmosphere in the streets.
From May 13 to 15, Pride Week brings together talks, meetups, celebrations and community events focused on LGBTQIA+ rights, diversity and inclusion. And of course, the highlight of the week will be the Pride March on May 16 — always a special moment of visibility, pride and togetherness.
This year again, Brussels shopkeepers and local businesses are taking part in the movement. Shops, cafés, bookstores, salons and restaurants are displaying large “Supported by local love” stickers in their windows — a simple but visible way to show their support and be part of the initiative.
What makes this action especially meaningful is that it brings everyone together: residents, visitors, associations and local businesses alike. A reminder that inclusion also lives in everyday places — in our neighbourhoods, our streets and the local shops that make Brussels so vibrant.
