The Guinguettes des Marolles are back!

Every Thursday throughout the summer, you’re invited to the Place du Jeu de Balle for free concerts and entertainment, starting at 6.30pm. It’s a great way to spend time with family, friends or colleagues after work. We’ll tell you all about it!

Different concerts every Thursday throughout the summer

Les Marolles is an authentic Brussels neighbourhood with something for everyone. And that’s what you’ll find when you spend your Thursday evenings there this summer.

The festivities start at 6.30pm and finish at 9.30pm. If you’d like to extend the evening, the bars on the square will be delighted to welcome you.

Thursday 26 June: The Maëlle danse troupe shares its love of oriental dance through shows and initiations! That evening, sip your drink while admiring the dancers, then come and try your hand at Oriental dance, with no fuss and no pressure.

Thursday 3 July: A change of atmosphere: it’s swing time on the Place du Jeu de Balle. Start at 6.30pm with an introduction to swing with Easy Swing, and be ready to dance at 8pm with the group Take a Swing.

Thursday 10 July: Two bands will be livening up the square. Starting at 6.30pm with The Two of Us, then at 8pm with Funky Vollegaz. Groove, jazz and funk.

Thursday 24 July: Starting with slam poetry at 6.30pm, followed by a rock band at 8pm. More information to follow.

Thursday 31 July: All aboard for Spain on this last day of July. A group who are regulars at the Fiesta Latina will be on hand to set the mood from 6.30pm.

Thursday 7 August: Join us at 6.30pm for an introduction to rock, before continuing the evening with the group Make Sens.Thursday 14 August: A group of uncontrollable underground noisemakers will be livening up the square that Thursday: BRUiTAL meets Karrakallas, with some surprising dancers.

Thursday 21 August: Les Marolles will be alive with the music of the Remork & Karkaba brass band: a unique brass band made up of a Moroccan gnawa wind and percussion section. Atmosphere guaranteed.

Thursday 28 August: For the last date of the summer, it’s the fantastic AdrianChin SoundMachine brass band who will be setting the mood at 6.30pm, followed by Les Grosboys Fringale. What better way to end the summer!

What to eat and drink for an aperitif?

During these ‘guinguettes’, you can order drinks directly from all the bars on the Place du Jeu de Balle, and eat on the deckchairs or at the tables in the centre of the square, under the parasols.

Some bars will have mixed plates or other treats for you to enjoy. Don’t hesitate to check out their menus or ask them what they have to offer!

These events are organised by Entreprendre Bruxelles and the BME, in response to a request from the traders on Place du Jeu de Balle.
