On 9 May, the Moomins are coming to Brussels

Looking for a family-friendly activity in Brussels? On Saturday 9 May 2026, head to the European District for a day full of colour, charm and discoveries. The Moomin Parade is coming back to Brussels for a second edition, bringing along the characters from the world imagined by Finnish author Tove Jansson.

On the programme: activities for children, storytelling, music, meet-and-greets with the Moomin characters and, of course, a big parade through the streets of the district. The perfect way to enjoy a mini city break without leaving Brussels.

A parade in the heart of the European District

The meeting point is around Ambiorix Square, where activities will take place throughout the day. The main parade starts at 2 pm and will follow Rue Archimède towards the Schuman roundabout, before returning to Ambiorix Square.

You may already know the European District for its institutions. But on this day, the neighbourhood reveals another side of itself: more family-friendly, more festive and definitely more local. With its Art Nouveau façades, terraces, small foodie spots and neighbourhood shops, the area has everything you need to extend your walk before or after the parade.
