The Marolles is a popular neighbourhood where the ‘Vieux Marché’ (market) is held every morning in ‘Jeu de Balle’ square.
But the Marolles neighbourhood is, above all, the historical centre of commerce in Brussels, with some 200 brand names and shops (vintage, furniture, antiques, clothes etc.), and a rather particular village-style, relaxed feel to it that has recently begun to attract high-end food shops.

‘Jeu de Balle’ flea market
Commonly known as the “Vieux Marché”, the famous Brussels flea market takes place every morning in ‘Jeu de Balle’ square. There are over 300 stalls selling a variety of items, furniture, textiles and accessories. There’s such a feel-good buzz here that it attracts just as many experienced bargain hunters looking for a good deal, as it does passers-by and tourists. Mad about vintage? You’ll love the items on offer here, which are exclusively second-hand.
Get into jumble-sale mode and have a good rifle to see what great little pieces you can find…
