My favorite cafés to return to again and again

Instead of making yet another TOP 10 of the best cafés in Brussels, I’d rather share my favorites—the places I always happily return to.

If I’m writing this article today, it’s somewhat paradoxically thanks to the TOP 100 of the world’s best cafés, where MOK, the pioneer of Dansaert, ranked 16th. A well-deserved recognition for this must-visit spot, especially worth (re)discovering for its perfectly mastered filter coffees.

I love Brussels. So I love Wild Awake, which roasts in Neder-Over-Heembeek before spreading its exceptional beans all over the city. Stop by their shop on Rue de Flandre—you’ll definitely find passionate people behind the counter.

When it comes to ambiance, Bouche checks all the boxes. I love the architecture of the place and appreciate their “no laptops” policy—perfect for a meeting with a good dose of caffeine from Wild Awake, yet again.

If you’re looking for a cozier and more indulgent spot, head to Frank. Here, you can take your time savoring a smooth latte, a sweet treat, or a perfectly cooked egg. Simple and effective—just the way I like it.

And then there’s Drache. The one you simply can’t leave out. Impeccable service, flawless quality, and always that little touch of innovation that makes the difference. A perfect affogato, an outstanding matcha… and that tiny ray of sunshine that lands perfectly on their mini terrace. In short, a place I love coming back to.

Five spots, not a ranking—just places I love to sit and enjoy.

And you, what’s your favorite café?
