Got a few free hours in Brussels soon? Head to Rue de Namur.
This street, just a bit away from the busy city center, isn’t crowded with tourists — it’s mainly known by locals and people working in the area. You’ll find plenty of high-quality shops, great restaurants, stylish clothing and jewelry stores, as well as top-notch beauty and wellness centers.
I’ve gathered lots of ideas for you in this article!
I’m sharing all my tips for a dream day on Rue de Namur
Every great day starts with breakfast
Whether you prefer a quick grab-and-go bite or a slow, relaxing breakfast alone or with friends — you’ll find plenty of options on Rue de Namur!
For a fast yet top-quality breakfast, head to Bouche, one of Brussels’ specialty coffee references. If you’re a true coffee lover, you probably already know it. If not — lucky you! Enjoy your coffee in their beautiful setting or take it to go, and don’t forget to treat yourself to one of their delicious pastries.
Got more time? Then stop by Jat or Tich. Noticed the family resemblance? That’s no coincidence — both spots are run by members of the same family! They’re perfect for a cozy brunch or breakfast, or even for an afternoon break. Their spacious interiors invite you to linger for hours. A small note though — they’re not the most laptop-friendly cafés at lunchtime. But honestly, we’re not complaining!
Treat yourself to some beauty or relaxation
Rue de Namur is also home to several highly recommended addresses, beloved by their loyal clients. Three true “artisans” with golden hands will take care of your hair or your skin with tailor-made treatments, expert advice, and a warm atmosphere.
First, there’s John V Style, a long-established salon known for working wonders with difficult hair.
Then, two beauty institutes: Beauty Partner and Kristina Decourt. You’ll leave with glowing, well-cared-for skin and expert advice for at-home care — all in a relaxing, cocoon-like atmosphere. A real moment of well-being to gift yourself (or someone else!).
Oh, and speaking of bubbles — head to Les Bulles à flotter for a moment of total relaxation. Experience true weightlessness and float your stress away.
Find everything you need on Rue de Namur
No matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it here: clothing shops, footwear specialists (whether running shoes, sneakers, or elegant city styles), body care products, jewelry, or a brand-new pair of glasses — there’s something for everyone. And why not end your stroll with a lovely bouquet of flowers or by spotting your next piece of furniture?
We’ve gathered a list of must-visit shops — each as high-quality as the next. But honestly, the best thing you can do is take a walk down the street and discover them all for yourself.
And of course, finish with a great meal!
When it comes to restaurants, Rue de Namur also offers plenty of options.
If you’re looking for a small, typical Brussels spot away from the tourist crowds, head to Le Petit Palais.
For a sunny terrace, try Le Loft — just be warned, it might be hard to find a table on a Thursday after work!
There’s also Uma, À l’Ombre de la Ville, and Ottanta, all excellent choices worth a visit.
Just passing through? Don’t miss La Burrata, which — as the name suggests — delights guests with its Italian specialties. Or grab a delicious, gourmet sandwich to go from the always reliable Jean Bon.
