Discover the BIFFF's recommended shops in Brussels

The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, better known as the BIFFF, is celebrating its 43rd edition this year. People often associate BIFFF with horror films, but it’s much more than that. You’ll also find thrillers, science fiction, fantasy films, black comedies, and action movies.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for film lovers to discover hundreds of short and feature films, as well as to take part in masterclasses, exhibitions, and festive activities like the Vampire Ball and the makeup contest.

In short, if you’ve never been, now is the time to check it out! And if you’ve already been… well, we don’t need to convince you. The festival runs from April 8 to 20 at Brussels Expo, in Heysel.

I met two of the festival’s organizers, Ludovic and Sissilia, and asked them which shops they would recommend to fans of the fantastic/horror/thriller atmosphere. Since the festival’s identity is obviously shared with its audience, I thought it would be interesting to get their recommendations. Discover them here!

Demanostra Tatoo

If there’s one business that fits perfectly into the BIFFF lineup, it’s Jess Dermanostra, the tattoo artist from De Wand. His incredibly detailed designs attract a large number of artistic tattoo enthusiasts, who don’t hesitate to wait several weeks for an appointment with him.

He’ll be at the festival, but for those who can’t make it, be sure to check out his social media!

Chez Maman

Opened on December 3, 1994, Chez Maman has become Brussels’ leading cabaret for transformist performances. Every weekend, Maman’s girls take the stage in this now-legendary venue…

Exciting news! Starting in April 2025, you can now enjoy a brand-new concept every first Thursday and Sunday of the month. Book a special evening show with three Chez Maman artists in an intimate and friendly setting, all while comfortably seated.

Fermenthings

Located in the heart of Brussels, Fermenthings is your gateway to the fascinating world of fermentation. From cider, natural wine, craft beer, and local meads to homemade kombucha, miso, kimchi, sourdough bread, and more – if it’s fermented, you’ll find it at Fermenthings.

You can shop for your favorite products, enjoy a delicious weekend brunch, or even join workshops to learn more!

Enygma

Are we really surprised to see Enygma on the list of recommendations from the BIFFF organizers? Not really.

Enygma is one of Brussels’ top escape room centers, located in the historic heart of the city. Here, you can take part in a fantastic team experience, solve puzzles, and have fun in an immersive theatrical setting.

We 100% recommend it!
